Skyline Luge Busan

A digital art museum created by Japanese art collective teamLab, originally opened in 2018 in Odaiba and relocated in 2024 to the Azabudai Hills complex in central Tokyo. The museum presents approximately 50 immersive digital artworks that flow beyond their frames, move between rooms, influence each other, and respond to the presence and actions of visitors, creating a continuously evolving environment where the boundary between artwork and viewer dissolves entirely. The concept of borderless refers simultaneously to the absence of physical boundaries between artworks (projections flow from one space to another, forming a single interconnected ecosystem), the dissolution of the boundary between art and audience (visitors' movements trigger changes in the digital environment), and the erasure of distinction between different artistic media (light, sound, movement, and space merge into unified sensory experiences). Major installations include the 10,000-square-metre Infinity Mirror Room, cascading digital waterfalls that flow down stairs and across floors, a forest of responsive lights that change colour at human touch, a tea house where flowers bloom inside the cup, and a drawing workshop where children's creations are scanned and animated into a shared virtual ecosystem. Each visit produces a unique experience as the artworks' algorithms generate non-repeating variations. The Azabudai Hills location, within Mori Building's major new development between Roppongi and Kamiyacho, provides significantly better transport access than the previous Odaiba location. The museum requires advance timed-entry tickets and consistently operates at capacity. Sessions are unlimited in duration, with most visitors spending two to three hours. Photography is permitted and encouraged, with the highly photogenic installations generating substantial social media exposure.
