Hughes Stadium (Morgan State)

Four NFL Hall of Famers learned their football on this field, in a stadium named not for a donor but for the student who started it all. Hughes Memorial Stadium - The Den - at 1700 East Cold Spring Lane on the Morgan State University campus in northeast Baltimore, opened on 16 October 1937 and remains one of the historic grounds of Black college football. The name honours William Alfred Carroll Hughes Sr., the 1897 alumnus who introduced football to Morgan by organising a team on a vacant lot; .....

Metro - Baltimore

The stage shares the room with a rotating art gallery - bands play beneath whatever Baltimore's painters hung that month. Metro Baltimore, at 1700 North Charles Street in the Station North Arts District, has been the city's essential small room since founder Sarah Werner opened it as the Metro Gallery in 2007. Ottobar

The club is named after a cat. The origin was a 125-person dive at 203 East Davis Street downtown, in the former Chambers nightclub near the courthouse - a tree fort, as one owner put it -.....

The theatre was wired for sound in 1915 - more than a decade before talkies existed - making it likely the first American movie house acoustically designed for pictures that could speak. The Parkway Theatre at 5 West North Avenue in Baltimore's Station North district opened on 23 October 1915 and reopened on 3 May 2017 as the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Parkway Film Center. The original was Baltimore-born architect Oliver Birkhead Wight's Italian Renaissance jewel for the Northern Amusement Com.....
