Howth Castle

Held by a single family, the St Lawrences, for around eight centuries, Howth Castle is one of the longest continuously occupied estates in Ireland, set on the slopes above the fishing village of Howth on the northern edge of Dublin Bay. The family traced its presence on the peninsula to the arrival of the Anglo-Norman knight Almeric in the late twelfth century.
