Make Art Everyday
ABBA The Museum

Hands-on and unashamedly fun, ABBA The Museum on the Stockholm island of Djurgarden tells the story of the Swedish quartet whose music became a global phenomenon after their 1974 Eurovision win, and has drawn crowds of fans and curious visitors since it opened in 2013. The museum was built around the idea that visitors should take part rather than merely look, so alongside the cases of original costumes, gold records and instruments there are interactive stations where guests can sing with the .....

Akkurat - Restaurang Södermalm

Beer pilgrims have been finding their way to Hornsgatan 18 since the autumn of 1995, when Rune Bohlin opened Akkurat at the foot of Sodermalm, a short walk from Slussen. What began as one of the first serious beer bars of Sweden's 1990s craft wave grew into an institution that has repeatedly been named among the very best beer bars in the world, and in 2025 it celebrated its 30th anniversary with a week-long festival. The numbers explain the reputation: a rotating line-up of some 28 taps, a fam.....

At Six

A derelict 1970s bank headquarters on Brunkebergstorg - the brutalist former home of Swedbank - became one of Stockholm's most talked-about hotels when At Six opened on 23 March 2017. Petter Stordalen's Nordic Hotels & Resorts bought the abandoned building in 2014 as part of a master plan to revive the once-glamorous square; White Arkitekter restored the listed facade and added three new floors, and London's Universal Design Studio spent two years reworking the interior into a 343-room art and d.....

Avicii Experience

Dedicated to the Swedish producer and disc jockey Tim Bergling, better known to the world as Avicii, this interactive museum on Sergelgatan in central Stockholm opened in 2022 within the Space entertainment complex and was created in close cooperation with his family and the foundation set up in his name after his death in 2018. The artist rose from making tracks in his teenage bedroom to worldwide fame with songs that blended dance music with folk and pop influences, among them Wake Me Up and L.....

Bacchi Syre

Three floors of the historic Bacchi Wapen premises at Jarntorget in Gamla Stan now house Bacchi Syre, a self-described "libertarian green meeting place" combining a plant-based cafe and restaurants with coworking desks, event stages and media studios. Behind it stands Syre Bar och Event, part of the media house Gron Press, which wanted a physical arena where the green, progressive causes it covers in print could be debated and worked on in person. The 870 square metres hold room for up to 300 p.....

Berns

In a grand hall beside Berzelii Park dating to the 1860s, Berns is one of Stockholm's most storied and atmospheric venues. The opulent Berns Salonger has functioned as a meeting place, concert hall and nightclub for more than a century and a half, blending old-world grandeur with a contemporary nightlife programme. Its magnificent main salon, all chandeliers and gilded detail, hosts live concerts and touring acts throughout the week. After the shows, the building's club rooms run late, with ho.....

Biblioteket Live

Inaugurated in 1939 and now heritage-listed, Medborgarhuset on Medborgarplatsen has been a stage for some of Sweden's most prominent cultural figures; today its glass-roofed atrium and surrounding rooms house Biblioteket Live, a combined restaurant, bar and event venue in the heart of Sodermalm. Event guests often enter from the back of the building at Folkungagatan 43, the address under which many club nights are announced. By day the kitchen serves weekday lunches and an evening menu that run.....

BigBenStandUp

Every single night of the year, the cellar under The Big Ben pub on Folkungagatan fills with laughter. Big Ben Standup is one of Stockholm's oldest stand-up clubs - it has run weekly without a break for the better part of two decades, a streak its own team claims is unique in the world - and it earned an honorary award at the Swedish Stand-Up Gala for its role as the soil in which the country's third wave of comedy grew. The formula is simple and unchanged: shows start at 20:00 and run roughly .....

Blasieholmen

Jutting into the harbour at the centre of Stockholm, the peninsula of Blasieholmen has long ranked among the most prestigious quarters of the Swedish capital, a compact wedge of land between the bustle of Norrmalm and the water facing the island of Skeppsholmen. In earlier times it was a separate island given over to shipyards, mills and naval stores, but reclamation gradually tied it to the mainland and grand building filled it during the city's expansion. The peninsula is dominated by the Nati.....

Café Opera

Running as a nightclub since 1980, Cafe Opera is one of the most glamorous and enduring names in Stockholm nightlife. Housed within the grand Royal Opera building on the waterfront near Kungstradgarden, it pairs ornate, historic surroundings with a polished, upmarket party atmosphere. Its beautiful interior, all gilded detail and high ceilings, gives a night out a genuine sense of occasion. The crowd skews a little older and well-heeled, with one of the strictest dress codes in the city kept f.....
