Atomic Pavilion at 4140 Manchester Avenue is the open-air stage of Atomic by Jamo, the multi-room entertainment complex that St. Louis promoter Jamo Presents has built in the middle of the Grove nightlife district - an operation whose lineage runs through the city's beloved independent rooms, from the original Ready Room to the Old Rock House. St. Louis kept one grand ballroom alive from the big-band age, and it still has the best dance floor in the Midwest. The Casa Loma Ballroom at 3354 Iowa Avenue, at the corner of Cherokee Street and Iowa in the Benton Park West neighbourhood of south St. Louis, opened on 7 September 1927 as the Cinderella Ballroom, built by the Freund brothers - Harry and Eugene - who had operated the Cinderella Airdome outdoor theatre on the same corner since 1921. The Jewel of Midtown gave Saint Louis University basketball a fortress and the city a mid-size concert room it had always lacked. Chaifetz Arena at 1 South Compton Avenue, at the corner of Compton and Market on the SLU campus, opened on 10 April 2008 after a groundbreaking on 28 August 2006, an 80.5-million-dollar, 269,300-square-foot project by arena specialists Sink Combs Dethlefs with St. Louis firm Mackey Mitchell, built by Clayco. Less a museum in the usual sense than a giant playground built from salvage, City Museum occupies a former shoe factory and warehouse in downtown St. Louis and invites visitors to climb, crawl and slide through its interior and grounds. It was created by the sculptor Bob Cassilly, who bought the largely vacant ten-storey building in 1993 and, with a crew of artisans, opened the museum in October 1997. A century-old electric foundry now ferments wine and hosts songwriters in Midtown St. Louis. City Winery St. Louis opened on 18 March 2023 at 3730 Foundry Way, Suite 158, inside City Foundry STL - the sprawling former Century Electric foundry complex between Grand Center and the Cortex district that reopened in 2021 as a food hall, office and entertainment campus. The venue brought Michael Dorf's urban-winery formula to Missouri: a working winery with tanks and barrels on site, a full restaurant.....

Set within the City Foundry development in the Midtown area of St. Louis, the Museum of Illusions is a hands-on attraction built around optical illusions and the science of how we perceive the world. Powell Hall at 718 North Grand Boulevard in St. Louis's Grand Center arts district began life in November 1925 as the St. Louis Theatre, a 4,100-seat Rapp and Rapp vaudeville and movie palace, and has been home to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra since 1968. Red Flag at 3040 Locust Street in Midtown St. Louis opened on 16 February 2020 with Hed PE on stage, one day after Fubar - the punk and metal institution its owners had run at 3108 Locust since 2008 - played its last note.
