American Family Field

Distinguished by its fan-shaped retractable roof, American Family Field is the home of the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team and one of the most distinctive ballparks in the major leagues. Opened in 2001 and seating around forty-two thousand, the stadium was built to let games go ahead whatever the notoriously changeable Wisconsin weather, its great convertible roof opening or closing in minutes over the field. The ballpark replaced the ageing County Stadium that had served Milwaukee baseball sin.....

Fiserv Forum

Opened in 2018 as the centrepiece of a major downtown redevelopment, Fiserv Forum is Milwaukee's premier indoor arena and the home of the city's professional basketball team. Designed with a distinctive curved, zinc-clad exterior that echoes the cream-coloured brick of local landmarks, the building replaced an older arena next door and quickly established itself as one of the most modern sports and entertainment venues in the American Midwest. The arena seats around seventeen and a half thousan.....

Landmark Credit Union Live

The Bradley Center hosted Milwaukee's arena rock for three decades; on part of its footprint now stands the city's newest music hall. Landmark Credit Union Live, at 1051 North Vel R. Phillips Avenue in the Deer District beside Fiserv Forum, opened on 27 February 2026 as a 4,500-capacity indoor venue built from the ground up for live music. The project closed a gap in the market: FPC Live - the venue arm of Wisconsin promoter Frank Productions, itself a Live Nation subsidiary - and the Milwaukee.....

The Milwaukee Mile

Cars have raced here every year since 1903 - nothing else on earth can say that. The Milwaukee Mile at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis is the oldest operating motor speedway in the world, a one-mile oval that began as a private horse track in 1876 and hosted its first automobile race on September 11, 1903, when William Jones of Chicago won a five-lap contest at 50 miles per hour. The Agricultural Society of Wisconsin bought the grounds in 1891 as the permanent home of the State Fair, an.....

The Rave - Eagles Club

A fraternal palace with a swimming pool in the basement became one of America's strangest and busiest concert buildings. The Rave and Eagles Club at 2401 West Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee opened on September 13, 1927 as the 2.6-million-dollar national headquarters of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a five-story Mediterranean Revival landmark by architect Russell Barr Williamson, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. The construction-era amenities read like a small city: a 75-by-50-foot swimming pool.....

Turner Hall Ballroom

Only one building in Milwaukee holds all three designations at once - National Historic Landmark, National Register listing and local landmark - and it is a socialist gymnasium from 1882 that now hosts indie rock. Turner Hall, at 1034 North 4th Street across from the Fiserv Forum block downtown, was built for the Milwaukee Turners, the German-American athletic and political society founded in 1853 as the Socialist Turnverein. The architect was Henry C. Koch, the same hand behind Milwaukee City .....

UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena

Elvis, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Zeppelin and Hendrix all played it, the Milwaukee Bucks won their only championship era home games in it, and it is still working. The UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, at 400 West Kilbourn Avenue downtown, opened on April 9, 1950 as the Milwaukee Arena. Designed by Eschweiler and Eschweiler and built for $7.6 million with a distinctive barrel roof, it was among the first arenas designed for broadcast television - a bet on the new medium that paid off across se.....

Wisconsin Center

Milwaukee's convention center has answered to six names in under three decades - a corporate rebranding streak that finally settled when a hometown financial firm put its name on the biggest expansion in the building's history. The venue at 400 West Wisconsin Avenue opened in 1998 as the Midwest Express Center and is now the Baird Center, run by the Wisconsin Center District. The original Flemish and German-inspired building was the largest design-build project in Wisconsin history when it repl.....
